Everything You Need to Know About Our House Rules

Welcome to our home! We’re so excited to host you and want to ensure you have the most enjoyable and seamless stay possible.

To help make things clear and simple, we’ve outlined a few key house rules and guidelines below. These are in place to make sure your stay is comfortable, safe, and environmentally friendly while keeping the property in great condition for future guests.

1. Electricity usage: Be mindful and eco-friendly

n Cape Verde, electricity can be quite expensive, and we are committed to reducing our environmental impact. That’s why we include 15KW of electricity per day with your booking, which is equivalent to €5 per day. This allowance should be more than enough for a typical stay, but if your consumption exceeds this amount, the extra usage will be charged at checkout.

To track this, we’ll read the electricity meter at check-in and check-out, making sure everything is fair and transparent.

Energy-saving tips:

  • Whenever possible, open the windows to let in fresh air.
  • Turn off the AC when you’re not in the room.
  • Set the AC temperature to at least 20°C.
  • Always switch off the AC and lights when you leave the apartment.

By being mindful of your electricity use, you’re helping us protect the planet!

2. Security deposit: For a smooth and secure stay

We take a €200 security deposit, which will be pre-authorized on your credit card during the pre-check-in process. This is simply a hold, not a charge, and it will be released after your stay, as long as no damages or extra costs (such as exceeding the electricity limit) occur.

This is a standard practice that ensures everything stays in great condition for you and future guests. Plus, we’ve made sure it’s fully compliant with Airbnb and Booking.com’s guidelines.

3. No smoking or vaping indoors

We want to keep the air fresh and the apartment comfortable for all our guests. Smoking or vaping is strictly prohibited inside the apartment. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping the space clean and pleasant for everyone!

4. No parties or events

While we love a good celebration, our property is not suitable for large gatherings, parties, or events. We kindly ask that you respect this rule to maintain the peaceful environment of the home and neighbourhood.

5. Registered guests only

For security and everyone’s comfort, only registered guests are allowed to stay on the property. If you’re expecting visitors or need to adjust your guest count, please let us know in advance.

6. Damages: What if something breaks?

We know accidents happen! If any damages occur during your stay, we kindly ask that you notify us as soon as possible. Any significant damage beyond normal wear and tear will be charged, but we’ll always discuss it with you first.

7. No pets allowed

As much as we love pets, our property is unfortunately not suitable for them. We appreciate your understanding on this matter.

8. No drugs on the property

The use of narcotics is strictly prohibited on the property. We aim to keep the environment safe and comfortable for all our guests.

9. Respect the neighbours: Peace and quiet

We’re lucky to be part of a peaceful and friendly neighborhood, and we ask that you help us maintain that by being considerate of noise levels. Please respect the tranquility of the area, especially during the evenings.

10. Quiet hours: Rest and relaxation

To keep things calm and quiet, we observe quiet hours between 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.. This helps ensure everyone gets a restful night’s sleep and the neighbourhood remains peaceful.

11. Check-in and check-out times

Our standard check-in time is 3:00 p.m., and check-out is 11:00 a.m.. If you need to request an early check-in or late check-out, please reach out to us in advance. We’ll do our best to accommodate when possible, but please note there may be a small additional fee.

12. Lost key charge

If you happen to lose your keys, there will be a €45 replacement fee. We kindly ask that you keep track of them to avoid any extra costs.

13. Pool hours: Splash time! (If applicable)

If the property includes a pool, it is available for use between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.. Please enjoy it responsibly and observe the pool rules.

14. No eating on sofas or beds

To keep the apartment in tip-top shape, we kindly ask that you avoid eating on the sofa or beds. This helps us maintain cleanliness and keep the space comfortable for you and future guests. A special cleaning fee of, 5000CVE (€50) could be applied.

15. Trash and cleanliness

We appreciate your help in keeping the apartment tidy by disposing of trash properly and keeping the space clean during your stay. A little effort goes a long way in ensuring the apartment stays welcoming for everyone!

16. Commercial filming

If you’re planning on making any commercial videos or photoshoots, we ask that you obtain prior permission from us. Let’s chat first and ensure everything is set up smoothly.
